Cecily’s Charcoal Sugar Scrub

November 7, 2017

This DIY activated charcoal scrub is made to cleanse, exfoliate and detoxify the skin without any nasties.

Bamboo charcoal and bentonite clay - two ingredients known to absorb impurities before washing them from the skin. And with the olive/coconut oil your skin will be left feel so soft and hydrated.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup raw sugar

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil or fractionated coconut oil (coconut oil that stays in liquid form and doesn't solidify)

  • 1/2 tablespoon activated charcoal

  • 1/2 tablespoon bentonite clay

  • 3 drops peppermint oil

  • 4 drops lavender oil

  • 4 drops lemon oil

  • 4 drops orange oil

Method:

Place all ingredients in a glass bowl and mix with a wooden spoon (when working with bentonite clay it is best to avoid using metallic bowls and utensils).  Place in a 240ml glass jar and seal.

Directions:

Use in the shower 2 times a week, avoiding the face.

This scrub is messy so make sure to rinse away any excess charcoal from your shower after use!
